Hi, I’m Heather!
Birth is a hugely transformational time in a person’s life, and it’s work that requires respect. I’ve guided people through backpacking, rock climbing steep crags, and white water rafting, and the journey of pregnancy and birth is equally (and often more) challenging. All of my experiences inform my work as a doula, and I bring that wisdom and confidence with me into the birth room. Walking alongside a birthing person as they move beyond their limits is an honor and a privilege.
You don’t need to be athletic or outdoorsy to give birth, but you do need perseverance, and an openness to the idea that you are so much stronger than you ever knew. Labor summons a deep power from within, and you need people around you who believe in your innate capacity to give birth, and who are tuned in and focused on you. Giving birth to my two kids taught me that knowledge is power, there are some things you can’t prepare for, and it helps to have a person in the room who is solely focused on your voice and your experience.
My mission is to educate and inspire parents so they can experience trust, love, and respect through the birth process. I motivate, embrace, and encourage folks with fun, humor, and confidence so they feel less fear, and more trust in themselves.
